South Africa's MAX MY RIDE Magazine Features Volkswagen Golf VI R with Rockford Fosgate system
Ryan Reddy is the name on the registration slip of this 2012 Golf VI R and is fortunate enough to enjoy the best that life has to offer. The 19 year old student took possession of the car last year, and being an audio fanatic, you can imagine that the only thoughts on his mind were what sort of system could be installed in the car.
Rael from Altra Audio, Ballito, South Africa took delivery of the car and set about transforming the system. The stock headunit was relocated to a nice dust collecting spot up on Ryan's shlep at home and the Dub saw a Kenwood Double DIN GPS head unit heading up the entire system,. The unit has a ridiculous amount of capabilities and provides clean signal for the Rockford Fosgate T600-4 amplifier. This amplifier drives both sets of splits that are located in the front and rear of the cabin filling it with a balanced vocal delivery.
The splits in question are Rockford Fosgate Power Series 6" which churn out the vocals extremely well given that this car was meant to be a pavement pounder and the vocals have no trouble in keeping up with the bass. Speaking about bass, that department is taken care of via a pair or Rockford Fosgate T1 12" subwofers that rest in a custom built 22mm Perspex enclosure. Powering them is a Rockford Fosgate Power Series T1500-1bdCP amplifier which is a monster of a power source for these puppies. I truly do love this amplifier for this very simple reason; it doesn't promise you the world and yet it always delivers more than you expect. Making sure that the system doesn't fall down like a man that was sipping on cough syrup way too much, a digital 1 Farad Capacitor was added to the system and does a sterling job of keeping things running.
