ROCKFORD FOSGATE ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP OF LOORRS SERIES OFF-ROAD DRIVER CASEY CURRIE

Rockford Fosgate, the industry leader in high-performance car audio systems, is proud to announce that it has sponsored Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) driver Casey Currie. In 2012, Currie will race for the LOORRS championship in his No. 2 Monster Energy/General Tire/Nissan Pro Lite truck, while mixing it up with UTV races and public appearances in between.

“In a short period of time, Casey has achieved what most drivers would strive to do in a lifetime,” said Theresa Hephner, Rockford senior director, products and marketing. “His lifestyle, and that of his legions of followers, is a mirror image of Rockford Fosgate Fanatics. Getting our brand image out in front of these current and potentially new Rockford fans is the ideal package for us. We are excited to be a part of Casey’s team.”

Racing dirt bikes at age five and off-road trucks by age 16, it becomes more than a coincidence that Currie is one of the youngest-ever team owners and drivers on the off-road circuit. Now involved with the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Currie runs the Pro Light 2WD Truck class, scoring his first Pro Lite Championship in 2010, and driving toward many more. Currie’s off-road resume is lined with wins on motorcycles, trucks, and buggies in the desert…he is no stranger to dirt sports.

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is the evolution of the long-standing support of short course racing by Forrest Lucas and Lucas Oil. Steeped in the Midwest tradition of short course off road racing infused with a West Coast influence, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing brings intense four wheel door-to-door action to challenging, fan friendly tracks. Lucas will host 16 events at seven venues on the west coast, and include one race as far as Utah for the 2012 season. Currie’s season will also include TORC Traxxas events in Floresville, Texas and Crandon, Wis.
